i haven't...

had a cigarette since last friday. granted, my tonsils have been very sore. but they started feeling a little better on wednesday. then yesterday even better. today is the day i could really have one. i'm not big on the nicotine part (i know, everybody says they're not addicted). but really, the thing i miss is having something to do. i have some weird oral fixation. my nails and fingers have taken a beating since my throat started hurting. i haven't been cranky or stressed or freaking out at all.

and, i've only had three diets cokes over the last week. a big break from my normal 1.5 average per day.

Liz, that is awesome! Not that you were sick, but that you are cutting back on diet coke and cigarettes. I am impressed. Have you thought of Tootsie pops/suckers/gum to help you with the oral fixation? Not that I know anything, except that I am excited for you.

Good for you!!! I know the oral fixation part can be the worst, I used sunflower seeds to get me through it... though I do know a number of people who used lolly pops and hard candys. It does get easier as time passes... I've been smoke free for six years. Any whooo, good luck and way to go!
