My Gram used to bake these yummy cookies with walnuts and icing sugar every Christmas. We called the snowballs but I'm sure there's another name for them. They are so yummy! Now that Gram is gone my bro bakes them and brings me some.

LOVE thumb print cookies - some call them birds' nests. Gotta be with Raspberry Jam too!!
I also love the "all butter" shortbread.

No, I don't bake, I buy them at the store LOL...

i took it to the teachers up at the kids school today and they were following me around asking for the recipe! seriously...every time i looked around there was another one.
so here ya go...

MIX ALL THE FOLLOWING IN TWO ROASTER PANS:
2 CUPS OF PECANS
2 LARGE CANS OF MIXED NUTS
1 CAN OF SPANISH PEANUTS
1 PKG. OF FRIED PORK SKINS
1 PKG. OF FUNYUNS
1 PKG. OF THIN PRETZEL STICKS
1 LARGE BOX OF CHEESE NIPS
1 LARGE BOX OF CHEX CEREAL
1 BOX OF PLAIN CHERRIOS

SAUCE:
2 STICKS OF BUTTER
1 CUP OF BACON DRIPPINGS (it takes about two packages of bacon to get it)
3 TBS GARLIC SALT
3 TBS MINCED ONION
2 TBS ACCENT
2 TBS TOBASCO SAUCE
2 TBS WORCHESTER SAUCE

COOK FOR 10 MINUTES IN SAUCE PAN.
POUR OVER MIX. BAKE FOR 1 HOUR.
STIR WITH WOODEN SPOON EVERY 15 MINUTES AND POUR MORE SAUCE OVER EACH TIME YOU STIR

if you make it, let me know if ya like it!

i love cranberry white chocolate cookies.

when i was growing up, my family did the whole traditional christmas dinner thing. but since i've been married, we change it up each year. it's always a special meal, but we don't do a bird anymore. last year, we did brunch and i made an asparagus and broccoli strata with all the sides (bacon, fresh fruit salad, pancakes, etc) for brunch. the year before, we had steak and shrimp/scallop scampi.

the one constant has always been the baking.
